Set on the enchanting banks of Asthamudi Lake, Aipuzha parish was erected in 1878. The church was built by Bishop Maria Ephrem Carrelon. He christened it after St. Elizabeth in memory of his own mother Madam Elizabeth. In the beginning the parish was looked after by the Vicar of Aravila. In 1928 Rev. Fr. Marian Dominic beautified the church.
