+++..:: Quilon Diocese ::.. +++Church Eramathur.

This church is situated in Chennithala – Triperunthura Panchayat, Alleppey District. This mission centre came into existence as a result of the elaborate missionary expeditions undertaken by the diocese in the first half of the last century. About 75 families from CMS led by Chooranady Daniel joined the Catholic fold. A shed was erected here for the sacraments. Rev. Fr. Pious catechized the people. A church was built in 1942 by Rev. Fr. Christopher Morris. The present church was constructed by Rev. Fr. Xavier and blessed on June 6 th 1998 by Bishop Joseph G. Fernandez. Most of the parishioners are agricultural labourers.
