There was only a shrine in Cherumoodu. This was part of Chemmakkadu parish. For the convenience of the people Sunday mass and sacraments were allowed. Soon a cemetery also came into existence. It is now a quasi parish. A new church is nearing completion. The parish is looked after by the Vicar of Chemmakkad.
